The plaid stoop is a physical realization of a thought: maybe Abstract Expressionism's iconic color fields could be superimposed onto the “real” world. A stoop can serve as a chair, a table, an entrance, or in this case, to imply visual movement. The title is a play on words: many abstract painters chose to not title their work, because it simply was.
